The City of Nairobi |
Nairobi is the most populous city in East Africa, with a current estimated population of about 3 million. According to the 2009 Census, in the administrative area of Nairobi, 3,138,295 inhabitants lived within 696 km2 (269 sq mi). Nairobi is currently the 12th largest city in Africa, including the population of its suburbs.
What makes Nairobi a special tourist destination, is that...it's the ONLY CITY in the world that has a Game Park Reserve that's only 15 Minutes drive away from the City's Center. This Game Reserve is also home to the BIG FIVE animals that we had talked about earlier. It also has an animal orphanage/zoo for a few selected caged animals and a walking inn through the park dubbed as the safari walk. This is made out of wood and bamboo sticks and stretches over a distance of 7 Kilometers. You get to view the wild wildlife beneath you as you walk through this stretch
Finally there are World class tourists hotels surrounding The Nairobi National Park, that offer great services and a spectacular view of its Landscape and the Wildlife living in it.
